WHAT EXISTED BEFORE THERE WAS NOTHING? In the beginning was the Word who was with God and who was God. Before there was nothing, there was the Eternal Word of God. The Word existed before all things. By his Word, He created the universe. You cannot have matter without the Word, who became flesh and dwelt amongst us.
