The Government’s Control of a Nation According to an Ancient Egyptian Playbook: Genesis Chapter 47
1. Famine: And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very bad.
2.
Take Away Money: The money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in
the land of Canaan, was brought the money to Pharaoh's house.
3. Take Assets: Pharaoh – “Give me your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, grain.”
4. Enslavement: The people – “My lord, our money is spent, our herds gone, but all we have left is our bodies and our land.”
5.
Egypt bought all the land of Canaan and Egypt for Pharaoh; for the
Egyptians sold every man’s field: So all the land became owned by the
government of Egypt.
6. Total Enslavement:
“Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: behold,
here is some seed for you, go out and sow the land. You must give a
fifth part of everything to Pharaoh.”
7. Grateful Slaves of the Government: “And they said, Pharaoh has saved our lives: let us find grace in your sight my lord, we will happily be Pharaoh's servants.”
The
rest is history. The citizens became perpetual and ill-treated slaves
of the government. Only the people of God had an exit strategy. A
savior, empowered by God, evacuated the people to a promised land.
